The test is available in English and Spanish- specify during registration. You must register beforehand.

We do not offer the GED Test at our site, but we do offer GED preparation classes.
To find out which centers offer the GED, you must create an account at GED.com and search for testing centers near you.

Registration
- You must first go online hiset.ets.org to create a My HiSET account. (Make sure to keep your log in information handy because this is where you will get your test results.)
- There you get your ETS #, have access to information about resources for studying, scoring, sample test questions, and more.
- Bring your ETS #, payment, and proper identification to AAS during our office hours to sign up to take the exam.
- You must register for the exam at least 1 week in advance.
Other testing options such as taking the test at another site or online from your home can be found on their website.

$20 per subject- includes 2 free retakes within a 12-month period.

You are eligible for a refund of your test fee if you cancel and notify us at least 24 hours prior to your appointment. (510) 522-3858 x58754
If you are absent or arrive too late to take the test for which you are scheduled, you are not entitled to a refund.
If the missed appointment was one made using one of your retake credits, the credit will not be returned to you.

SCORING
Each of the five subtests in the HiSET battery is scored on a scale of 1-20. In order to pass, you must do all three of the following:
- Achieve a score of at least 8 on each of the five individual subtest
- Score at least 2 out of 6 on the essay portion of the writing test
- Have a combined score on all five tests of at least 45
Scores are available 5-7 days for multiple choice tests; 7-10 days for essay (writing) test. You can access your score reports on your My HiSET account.
